The video footage of a delivery driver who knocked a motorcyclist off his bike then drove away caught the eye of many readers.

A video was posted on YouTube by the motorbike rider Praveen Velugupati which shows the moment after the crash happened in Southall.

The DPD driver who has since been sacked is seen refusing to give his insurance details and then drives away.

A delivery driver has been sacked after he was caught on camera knocking a motorcyclist off his bike and driving away without leaving his insurance details.

Conte begins Chelsea job

It was a new dawn for the Blues as Antonio Conte began his new job at Chelsea.

The Italian coach has signed a three-year contract for the first time with a Premier League football team, after fulfilling his commitments with Italy and Euro 2016.

The squad started pre-season training at their Surrey base on (Wednesday) July 13, and by Friday (July 15) were in Austria for a week-long training camp and friendly matches.

Firefighters rescue woman and children in lift

Rex House on Hampton Road West goes up in flames

A woman and children were stuck in a lift when a fire started at a block of flats in Feltham .

Thick plumes of smoke could be seen billowing from Rex House on Hampton Road West, where 60 people fled the building.

While the London Fire Brigade were able to pin down the fire started in three wheelie bins and spread to cabling fixed outside the flats, smoke then entered the building and damaged parts of the roof.

It took firefighters over an hour to put out the flames which had started just after 3am last Saturday (July 9).

The Brigade has urged people to familiarise themselves with its Know the Plan campaign, informing people what to do in the event of a fire in a block of flats.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Primark makes Uxbridge 'shopping destination'

A new Primark store set to open in Uxbridge town centre later this year has caused some excitement.

The addition of the discount clothes retailer will create 144 new jobs and join other major retailers such as Marks and Spencers and TK Maxx at The Pavilions shopping centre.

Hillingdon Council's cabinet member for regeneration, Cllr Douglas Mills, said the arrival of a two-floor Primark is 'a great coup', while the investment has been described also as 'a key shopping destination within the town.'

Uxbridge town centre is currently undergoing renovation projects including revamps of its Cedars and Grainges multi-storey car parks.

Former assistant head banned for looking at bestiality

A former assistant headteacher in Hounslow who looked at images of bestiality has been banned from teaching.

David Kingston, 38, who taught at St Lawrence Roman Catholic Primary School in Feltham , was prohibited from teaching indefinitely after a hearing by the National College for Teaching and Leadership.

The regulator heard how Mr Kingston had viewed images of sexual activity between a person and an animal but was cleared of other allegations including expressing a sexual interest in four-year-olds.

Mr Kingston worked at the primary school in Victoria Road, Feltham, from November 2002, and became assistant headteacher in January 2013.

Following a police investigation, he resigned in September 2014.
