The general election battle in Brentford & Isleworth will step up a gear this week as the candidates go head-to-head not once but twice.

The five contenders for the marginal seat will answer voters' questions at hustings on Tuesday (April 14) and Wednesday (April 15).

The constituency is held by Conservative Mary Macleod but Labour's Ruth Cadbury is favourite with bookmakers to overturn her 2,000 majority.

Liberal Democrat Joe Bourke, the Green Party candidate Daniel Goldsmith and UKIP's Richard Hendron are also contesting the seat.

They will face a grilling from the public in a debate at Christ Church, in Turnham Green, on Tuesday, from 7.30pm, at a ticketed event in support of homeless charity The Shelter Project Hounslow.

They will lock horns again the following night at St Paul's Church, in St Paul's Road, Brentford, from 7pm-9pm, at a hustings organised by Brentford Chamber of Commerce with support from NeighbourNet, the team behind BrentfordTW8.com.

Both events will be captured in full for the Brentford TV: Election 2015 Youtube channel, which already features a number of interviews with the candidates. They will also be available on getwestlondon, along with a round-up of the action.

There are now just under four weeks to go until the General Election on May 7.
