Ms Malhotra also called for a new Cranford plan of action, saying: “Cranford is the gateway from London to Heathrow and we need to work to support our businesses, tackle litter, anti social behaviour, increase policing and restore pride in our street scene.”

She said: “We have a lot to fight for in this election. Theresa May wants to make this election all about Brexit.

"But we know the next five years must also address the reality of the Government’s record and that’s what May wants to hide.

"Our public services and schools are underfunded. London now has the highest waiting times for A&E, living standards are falling and the house building under the Tories has slowed to its lowest level since the 1920s. Britain deserves better.”

Mr Khan also took a trip to Grove Road Primary School as part of the Ms Cadbury’s re-election campaign.

He also met with people from the community and gave a speech before joining in local campaigning in Hounslow town centre.
