Plans have been submitted for another wave of building at the former RAF Uxbridge site, St Andrew's Park.

Property developer St Modwen has proposed a further 85 homes to Hillingdon Council , which are the latest phase of the new community being built on the historic air force base, and would be developed by the company’s housebuilding division, St Modwen Homes.

St Modwen say the homes will include a mix of sizes and styles to reflect the new community at St Andrew’s Park, including 44 three and four-bedroom family houses as well as one and two-bedroom apartments and maisonettes.

All the new homes will have their own parking spaces as well as lockable cycle storage and access to visitor parking.

The new homes will sit on the edge of the new 40 acre park at the heart of the new community and will include an elegant crescent of family houses overlooking the park.

Robin Smith, technical director at St Modwen Homes, said: "We've worked closely with our architects to design a variety of homes that will suit people on all stages of the property ladder, from first time buyers to growing families and downsizers.

“What's more, all of our homes have been designed with our philosophy of light and height, meaning each one will be built with large windows and high ceilings as standard, creating the bright and open living spaces that are so popular amongst our homeowners.

"Hopefully, we'll begin work on these new homes at St Andrews Park during the autumn this year.”

'Community taking shape'

Overall, St Andrew’s Park has outline planning permission for 1,300 homes and Hillingdon Council have invested millions to restore the historic WW2 bunker on site.

St Modwen secured planning consent at the end of 2015 for a further 249 homes on the ‘triangle site’ adjacent to the commercial heart of the new development, to the east of Uxbridge ’s town centre, which will include a mix of apartments for private rent and private sale.

In addition, some 270 homes have already been completed by Charles Church and Persimmon Homes at the development.

Rob Barton, residential land director at St Modwen, said: “This application is the latest in a series of exciting developments being brought forward at St Andrew’s Park as the new community takes shape.

“Alongside the new homes already on-site, we’re looking forward to starting work on the new apartments as part of the town centre extension later this year, and to opening the green centerpiece of the new community – the park itself.”

The new community at St Andrew’s Park is continuing to grow, with John Locke Academy Primary School opening in 2014 and a new entrance and road put in.

The new park will start to take shape and the Grade I Hillingdon House is set to be redeveloped as a restaurant and office space.

St Modwen has also submitted its plans for the new office park next to the town centre, which is intended to deliver up to 1,000 jobs.

A decision on the planning application by the London Borough of Hillingdon is anticipated in the summer of 2016.
