It’s a chance for residents to help put things right on the streets of the borough where they see fit.

People in Hounslow are being called on for their ideas on where the £100,000 Transport for London funded Street Improvement Fund should be spent.

The funding will be shared between the five area forums; Bedfont, Feltham and Hanworth; Central Hounslow; Chiswick; Heston and Cranford; and Isleworth and Brentford; to help small projects proposed by people in the neighbourhood, and which go beyond the remit of Hounslow Highways.

The fund will support requests for small changes such as renovating a war memorial and enhancing conservation areas to improved wheelchair access and traffic issues including rat running.

Anyone who makes a suggestion must outline the problem and how the funding will help to meet the proposed solution.

Councillors will on behalf of residents and/or associations will submit the applications to the Traffic and Transport team in exchange for funds to help improve the areas.

Chiswick area forum vice-chair, councillor Gerald McGregor, said: “I am delighted to support the scheme which really puts “people power” into action.

“I strongly urge all residents and/or associations in and around Chiswick to submit their ideas and proposals to help improve their local areas”.

Deadline for applications is Monday (February 29) and successful applications will be notified in April.
