Hundreds of people enjoyed a fun day out in the sun exploring the river, canoeing, singing and dancing at the annual Party on the Pier in Chiswick.

There was plenty going on in the water for families who took to river dipping with Thames Explorer Trust (TET), canoeing on the River Thames and jumped onboard free river trips sponsored by Fuller's, on Sunday (July 19).

Back on dry land, Chiswick Pier Trust (CPT) had organised some entertainment for children including face painting by Cheeky Chops artists, singing and dancing with Amanda's Action Kids, and activities with the sea cadets.

Down by Corney Reach people also took advantage of this year's health and fitness theme by testing out the Alexander Technique for improved posture and movement with local teacher Elizabeth Dodgson, and taking up free spine and posture checks with Optinal Spine as well as finding out more about activities at New Chiswick Pool.

The band Shenanigans got people up on their feet after indulging in a barbecue and drinks from the Fuller's bar.

Parents also had a browse around stalls manned by TET, The River Thames Society, fashion and jewellery stalls, and there was a chance to see information on the work of Chiswick Pier's national lifeboat institution.

Don't miss the CPT's next party celebrating the Great River Race on Sunday September 12.
