Hundreds of runners pulled on their trainers for charity to take on the British Airways Fun Run.

More than 360 runners descended on BA's headquarters at Heathrow Airport on Thursday (July 23) for the airline’s annual charity fun run, raising more than £18,000 for Cancer Research UK.

The event, now in its eighteenth year, saw 271 adults run the 5km course, and 92 children run a Little Legs race.

Runners and spectators were cheered on and entertained by Strictly Come Dancing’s Anton du Beke, X Factor’s Jack Walton, and the Twist and Pulse Dance group from Britain’s Got Talent.

Anton du Beke said: "I am delighted to have been part of the BA Fun Run, and have enjoyed meeting all the runners taking part.

"Well done to the British Airways team for raising such a truly tremendous amount for Cancer Research UK."

Catherine Irving, Cancer Research UK’s local fundraising manager for south-west London, said: "We are absolutely delighted that British Airways has put on another fantastic fun run to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK.

"Over the many years British Airways has been supporting the charity, the airline has raised almost £1m. We can’t thank BA staff enough for their support in helping us bring forward the day when all cancers are cured."

The men’s race was won by Adam Moquet, with a time of 17 minutes and 55 seconds, while Lindsey Carr was the quickest woman round the course, with a time of 23 minutes 26 seconds.
