Rubbish from a property in Fulham was discovered dumped around 40 miles away near a field in Surrey.

The building waste was found at the entrance to field on a road in Nutfield, in July last year.

Now, Charlie Chapman Jr has been fined £1,765 after admitting to flytipping at a court hearing earlier this month.

The detritus was discovered dumped in an entrance to a field off Nutfield Road.

But Tanbridge District Council officers discovered paperwork within the waste which helped them trace it to an address in Gironde Road, Fulham.

The officers contacted the owner of the property, who confirmed the waste was from refurbishment of his premisses. He had struck an agreement with two men who had called at his home.

He also took a photo of the men, which allowed the council officers to identify Chapman Jnr.

The suspect was invited to an interview but failed to attend or produce any paper work relating to the waste, which led to his prosecution.

He appeared at Redhill Magistrates’ Court on January 10, where he was fined a total of £1,765.

Chapman Jr, from Mid Street, South Nutfield, has previously been prosecuted by the Tanbridge District Council, most recently in October 2015.
