A foodbank in Isleworth which helped feed nearly 300 people last year has secured a vital donation to continue its work.

Ivybridge Foodbank, which is an offshoot of Richmond Foodbank, was given £500 by the Isleworth branch of TK Maxx.

The foodbank, which is based at the BridgeLink Community Centre on the Ivybridge estate and run by All Souls Ivybridge, distributed emergency food parcels to nearly 300 people last year.

It is open every Thursday from 9.30am-11.30am, and runs alongside a community drop-in and advice service at the community centre.

Simon Anderson, chairman of Ivytag Residents' Association, contacted TK Maxx to secure the donation.

"Over the last year, the foodbank has supported local people struggling with issues such as debt, homelessness, family illness, and domestic violence. This money is a great help, as the service is completely reliant on donations," he said.
