A "sea of rubbish and toxic waste" has been found dumped outside Heathrow Airport.

The enormous fly tip, encompassing washing machines, fridges, tyres and bags of rubbish completely covered a path near where the Colnbrook Bypass (A4) meets the M25 in Hillingdon.

Fabian Fojo found the dumpsite tip on Tuesday (August 22), which is also worryingly near Wraysbury River.

He told getwestlondon: "A mile's worth of rubbish was thrown all over the path.

"There are bags full with asbestos opened and exposed to the atmosphere.

"The extent of the damage to the nature is such that even the Wraysbury River passing at that level is clogged with washing machines and fridges.

"It's literally a sea of rubbish and toxic waste."

Within the vicinity of the illegal dumpsite, there is also another major accumulation of tyres and household equipment, according to Mr Fojo.

He added: "There is rubbish as far as the eye can see, literally."

Hillingdon Council was contacted for comment, but at the time of publication getwestlondon was yet to receive a response.
