This is the first picture of the tragic woman found dead in a suitcase this week.
Martusia Ligman, known as Marta, was identified on Wednesday (May 13) as the victim of a horrific murder which resulted in her body being stuffed in a suitcase.
The 23-year-old's body was recovered from the Grand Union Canal, in Maida Vale, on Sunday (May 10).
A 38-year-old man has been charged with murdering her.
Tomasz Kocik, of Buckingham Road, Brent - the same street as Marta - appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. He was remanded in custody until his next appearance at the Central Criminal Court on Friday (May 15).
He was arrested on Monday (May 11) with two other men, aged 34 and 30, who have since been bailed to a date to be confirmed.
A post mortem is currently taking place to figure out how Marta died.
It is not known how long her body was in the suitcase, but officers are still investigating.
The Met Police marine policing unit and London Fire Brigade helped recover the suitcase at around 2.30pm on Sunday.
Houseboats are moored along the edge of the canal and one police officer described it as a "tight-knit community".
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Ashwin, who is leading the investigation, said: “I would like to ask for the help of all those people who use or live on the Grand Union Canal.
“We now believe that the body, placed in a black suitcase, was placed in the Grand Union Canal at some point in the last two weeks.
“Whilst the body was recovered near to Little Venice it is highly likely that she entered the water further along the canal.
“Did you see or hear anything suspicious or see a black suitcase in the canal?"
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
