Firefighters tackled a blaze at a pub and flats in Marylebone which destroyed the roof and parts of the second and third floor.

Around 58 firefighters were called to the scene to bring the fire under control at 9.07am on Saturday July 25.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown but half of the second floor and part of the third floor flats above the pub on Montagu Row have been damaged.

The roof of the property has collapsed.

Eight fire engines rushed to the scene from North Kensington, Kensington, Chelsea, Paddington, Soho and Euston fire stations.

London Fire Brigade report that one person left the building before the fire service arrived.

Station Manager Nick Harding who was at the scene said:

“Crews worked quickly and used a turntable ladder to tackle the fire from above. Thankfully there were no reports of any injuries.”

A London Fire Brigade spokesman confirmed the fire was brought under control at around 12pm.
