Heathrow Airport's Terminal 3 was evacuated on Tuesday (July 4) after an automatic fire alarm was triggered.

The entire terminal had to be evacuated just before 1pm, with only security and emergency staff allowed in to the building.

There was no fire found at Europe's busiest airport, and passengers were allowed back in to the terminal around an hour later.

Several flights were delayed to allow passengers back through the airport and photographs of long queues were posted on social media.

Faruk Miah, who's flight was delayed during the disruption said: "Our flight is being delayed to give enough time for people to check in. My worry is missing my connection in Dubai.

"Things have calmed now."

Moments after the Heathrow evacuation, London Euston Underground station was also evacuated due to an automatic alarm however it was reopened within half an hour.
