It’s been a week where gun crime and murder has sadly dominated our coverage on getwestlondon .

There were two separate fatal shootings - one in Fulham and the other in Kilburn - leading to shock within the community.

However, other news you clicked on was thankfully not so tragic.

Fulham murder investigation after shooting

Salim Coulter was gunned down while getting into the front passenger seat of a silver and black Renault Captur after enjoying a bite to eat with a friend in a restaurant in Walham Grove, at the junction with North End Road, in Fulham, on Monday (December 5) night.

He lived with his family in White City, and died from a gun shot wound to his head.

Police later said they believed the 24-year-old’s killer was lying in wait for him.

Kilburn murder

Tragically, just a few days later on Thursday (December 8) evening, a 21-year-old man was fatally shot in Kilburn.

Reporter Amita Joshi was at the scene and captured dramatic video footage of the aftermath.

Police cars and forensics swarmed the crime scene

Afterwards, charity workers who dedicate their lives to helping tackle gang crime and violence, said this murder, like the one in Fulham, would leave people worried for their safety and the community they live in.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene

Police say they are looking for a hooded gunman .

Chelsea guessing games

Things are looking rosy for the Blues this season, as they sit pretty at the top of the Premiership table as Christmas approaches.

A40 tailbacks

It couldn’t have been much fun if you were one of the unfortunate ones sitting in the nine miles of traffic which an accident on the A40 caused on Tuesday (December 6) morning.

The crash happened on the major road at around 6am near the Greenford Flyover and police were called to the scene.

A bus and a van collided on the road causing lane closures until around 9.45am and heavy congestion until around midday.

The driver of the van is believed to have suffered minor injuries.
