Fancy seeing the world's largest rodents in Ealing?

Well you're in luck, because two capybaras have arrived at Hanwell Zoo.

Hydro and Tupi have been homed in the zoo's new South American space, which they will share with three mara rodents - Lati, Lily and Grace.

The furry pair arrived from Peak Wildlife Park, near Stoke-on-Trent, with their species originating in the South American Amazon rainforest.

The name Hydro is short for "Waterpig Waterpig" while Tupi is short for "Grass Eater", according to Ealing Council.

Capybaras are the largest rodents in the world, typically weighing up to 70kg and 1.3metres in length.

Hanwell Zoo officially reopened in March, with a new entry fee of £2.50 for adults and £1 for children over three-years-old.
