Former footballer Marcus Bent has pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine.

The ex-England U21 player will be sentenced later this month at Guildford Crown Court where he is also due to enter a plea over charges of affray and possession of weapons.

Bent, who lives in Claremont Lane, Esher, Surrey, is scheduled to appear on October 16.

He was arrested in Esher on September 13.

The ex-striker - who was born in Hammersmith - started his career at Brentford FC in 1995 before signing with Crystal Palace. He went on to play Birmingham where he spent time, on loan, at QPR.
