By next week, the country will have decided whether to stay in the European Union or not, but as voting day gets closer many are yet to decide if they are in camp Leave or Remain?

During numerous debates held on TV, radio and social media, a lack of credible evidence and disagreement over figures such as how much money the UK spends on membership means the debate has, at times, turned into not much more than personal spats and point scoring.

On Wednesday (June 15), the debate even descended into naval warfare for goodness' sake, as Vote Leave and Remain campaigners clashed in novelty boats on the Thames.

So, in the absence of many hard facts, getwestlondon has analysed the squabbles to summarise the Leave and Remain arguments based only on the plentiful insults hurled by both sides.

From Boris Johnson's rants to Jeremy Corbyn's wisecracks, we look at who deserves your vote based on the sharpness of their tongues.

Best insults from REMAIN

1. Boris 'Blunder Bus' Johnson has been accused of thinking about his Prime Ministerial prospects

Following last week's ITV EU debate, Twitter was flooded with comments about Boris Johnson after he blustered over immigration figures.

But it didn't just stop there. The Uxbridge and South Ruislip MP was accused of being hypocritical for setting off on his Brexit bus which turned out to be by a German manufacturer.

Labour’s shadow business secretary Angela Eagle also accused Mr Johnson of only being concerned with one number - 10 Downing Street.

2. Leave campaigners called 'a wolf in sheep's clothing' when speaking about the NHS

In a tag team effort, Prime Minister David Cameron and Jeremy Corbyn accused the Leave campaign of “masquerading as the saviours of the NHS” when the No vote could "destroy the NHS".

3. Sir John Major called the Vote Leave team 'squalid' and 'deceitful'

In an interview with Andrew Marr, former PM Sir John Major accused the Vote Leave team and Nigel Farage of being "squalid" and "deceitful" and said he felt the British people were being told lies about what could happen if they remained.

Best insults from LEAVE

1. Jeremy Corbyn accused of being 'secret Brexiter' - with a weird video made about him by Leave campaign

Leave.EU think Jeremy Corbyn is secretly a Brexit voter, so much so, they've taken the R Whites advert from the eighties about a secret lemonade drinker and made their own lyrics to go over it.

2. Cameron bashed over wild exaggerations if people vote to leave the EU

From top Tory donors to Conservative MPs, Cameron has had his fair share of stern words. Eurosceptic Bill Cash said the Prime Minister's campaign was “monumentally misleading propaganda", and MP Nadine Dorries saying he was an "outright liar".

3. Sir John Major called 'sad and slightly mad' for lashing out at Leave

Following said interview with Andrew Marr (see above), the former PM was accused by director of Leave campaign Matthew Elliott as "sad" and "slightly mad".
