This enormous 'zombie' knife has been taken off the streets of Southall

A search warrant was carried out and the knife found on Tuesday (December 5)

This enormous "zombie" style knife has been taken off the streets of Southall.

Officers from Ealing MPS under Operation Sparta, along with the antisocial behaviour team, carried out a search warrant on Tuesday morning (December 5).

They discovered the terrifying weapon and it was seized.

Operation Sparta aims to seize dangerous weapons and engage with young people.

On Monday (December 4), Mayor of London Sadiq Khan announced a further £250,000 funding available for community projects helping to reduce knife crime.

Only last month, the mayor launched the "London Needs You Alive" campaign after more than 40 young people under the age of 25 were killed so far in 2017.

A key part of the mayor's ground-breaking Knife Crime Strategy, the campaign aims to reduce crime by focusing on the potential of teenagers in the capital.
