A 72-year-old man has died from his injuries two weeks after he was involved in a collision with a cyclist in Shepherd's Bush.

The pedestrian was rush to hospital after the crash in Frithville Gardens at around 11am on December 30 last year.

A police investigation has now been launched and officers are asking for the cyclist to come forward to assist detectives with their investigation.

The pedestrian passed away from his injuries on January 15 and the Metropolitan Police launched an investigation after they were informed on January 27.

Detectives launched an appeal on Saturday morning to find the cyclist – described as a black man – who stopped at the scene, but as police were not called to the incident they have no record of who he is.

Police said it is “of paramount importance” that the cyclist comes forward to assist the investigation.

They added that they only wish to speak with the cyclist to establish the circumstances that led to the collision.

Police say the road would have been busy and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.
