Roads have re-opened after people travelling in a minibus were seriously injured when their vehicle was involved in a crash with a car and a tree in Edgware.

The crash was declared a ‘serious incident’ by emergency services who were called to the collision at 5.51am on Tuesday morning (February 17) at the Stone Grove junction, with Canons Corner, between Stanmore and Edgware, Harrow.

Eight people travelling in a white Renault Trafic minibus were taken to hospital after the collision which also involved a Vauxhall Zafira MPV and a tree. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Six ambulance crews were sent with two duty station officers, an advanced paramedic and a team of doctors from London’s Air Ambulance by car.

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman told getwestlondon: “We treated eight patients in total - three men and five women - who were understood to have been travelling in the minibus and were all conscious.

“Two were treated for leg injuries and were taken to St Mary’s Hospital.

“Another three were treated for chest, arm, and knee injuries and were taken to the Royal Free Hospital.

“A further three patients were treated for hip, leg and head injuries. They were taken to Barnet Hospital.

“A ninth person was checked over at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.”

St Mary’s Hospital is west and north west London’s major trauma unit where the most seriously injured are taken.

Roads around the crash area were closed while emergency services attended the incident but were reopened at around 9am. No arrests have been made.
