Strictly Come Dancing star Ed Balls gracefully turned down the chance to a dance-off with controversial X Factor star Honey G.

The challenge put on the table by the North Wheezy rapper on X Factor was followed by a response on ITV's Lorraine where he appeared to talk about his progress on the BBC One show.

But it was not long before the most talked about contestant on the ITV singing show came up in the interview.

Harrow rapper, real name Anna Gilford, said: "Yeh um I'd like to challenge Ed Balls to a dance-off, challenge me anyday. He knows where I am."

In response to this, Balls, said: "I’ve spent 10 weeks trying to avoid the dance-off – and so far I have… I’m afraid, my answer is that i’m trying to avoid dance-offs at the moment."

The pair are novelty acts on their respective shows and their judges have got a soft spot for them despite their talent flaws.

While Ed Balls ended up bottom of the leaderboard his jive to Great Balls of Fire got him some good comments.

Len praised the politician, saying: "You’re getting better. You came down there [on the piano] and made Blackpool rock."

Whilst Bruno said: "You are strangely addictive and to my surprise, most of it looked like a jive."

Meanwhile, Honey G found herself in the bottom two for the first time last weekend.

However she managed to make it through to the next round following her save me song, a Missy Elliiott mash up.

With great difficulty to reach his decision, judge Simon Cowell said: "The one who actually for me felt they wanted to stay in more, based on that was Honey G."

With three to one voting in favour of Honey G it meant the end of Ryan Lawrie's X Factor journey.
