An Ealing police officer has been arrested after allegedly engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old.
A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police confirmed he was arrested on January 29 on suspicion of sexual activity with a child.
They told getwestlondon: "Police are investigating an allegation of sexual activity with a child.
"An officer has been bailed to March 23 and has been suspended."
The officer has been granted bail until later in March, whilst the Met’s Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command look into the case further.
He has also been ordered to live at an address in another part of the country as part of his bail conditions and told he must not contact the girl.
A source told the Sunday Mirror : “All of his colleagues were really shocked. He was hauled into an office at work without any warning and now no one is allowed to contact him.
“He’s a well-liked and respected police officer. It’s the last thing you would expect one of our own to be accused of.”
