Organisers of the award-winning Ealing Half Marathon, have joined forces with the National Trust at Osterley Park, to offer a 10 week training programme for runners.

The 45 minute sessions will initially run for 10 weeks from Tuesday April 21, starting at 6pm by the steps of Osterley House and they will be delivered by qualified running coaches and leaders.

They will get the public in shape for the Osterley Park 10K on Saturday June 20 and also for the Ealing Half Marathon in September.

Isaac Rocke, sport development officer at Osterley Park said: “We are keen to build on the success of the Osterley Park 10K last year and to encourage new people to come running in our beautiful park in one of the largest open spaces in West London.

“We ran some initial beginners groups last year at Osterley Park and are keen to continue them in 2015. The sessions are designed for all abilities and will focus on running technique, core stability work as well as running. It’s such a beautiful setting and we’d love to see some new faces.”

Kelvin Walker, coach and race director of the Osterley Park 10K and the Ealing Half Marathon, added: "We are looking forward to welcoming runners of all levels. The Osterley Park 10K is also a great training race for the Ealing Half Marathon and other autumn half marathons."

Runners are requested to sign up to the Osterley Park 10K training sessions in advance at www.ealinghalfmarathon.com/preparation/10-weeks-to-a-10k . The sessions will cost £2 per session, payable on the day.

The fourth Ealing Half Marathon will be on September 27, 2015 and starting and finishing in Lammas Park, Ealing, London. The race was introduced in the Olympic year in order to bring a mass participation sporting event to the borough that would be a legacy to the Games.

It was voted ‘Best Half Marathon’ at The Running Awards 2014 and is a firm fixture in the autumn running calendar, with runners of all levels aspiring to be on the start line this September.

Registration for the Ealing Half Marathon is open, go to www.ealinghalfmarathon.com for further race details and to sign up.
