A blaze at a partly built hotel in Ealing is now under control, London Fire Brigade (LFB) has confirmed.

Firefighters were called to a fire at a hotel, which is under construction in Uxbridge Road, at 11.30am on Tuesday (April 18).

Footage and pictures on social media appeared to show Hotel Ibis Styles on fire.

Getwestlondon has approached Ibis for comment.

LFB said the blaze was under control by 1.25pm.

It took 72 firefighters and officers to deal with the fire.

The whole roof of the eight story building was alight as well as part of the plant room.

An LFB spokesman said: "Ten fire engines and 72 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a hotel under construction on Uxbridge Road in Ealing this morning.

"The Brigade's 999 control officers took around 40 calls about the visible blaze.

"The whole of the roof of the eight storey building was alight and part of the plant room.

"There are no reports of any injuries.

"The Brigade was called at 1130 and the fire was under control by 1325.

"Fire crews from Ealing, Acton, Southall, Chiswick, Park Royal, Wembley and surrounding fire stations are attending the blaze.

"The cause of the fire is under investigation."
