A group of travellers set up on Ealing Common this week for the fourth time in two months.

A total of seven caravans were seen on Tuesday (September 28) evening on the same spot where a camp was set up just 20 days previous.

After hearing reports of the travellers, Ealing Council and Metropolitan Police began working on their eviction on Wednesday (September 29).

Appropriate checks were carried out by officers from the Park Guard in the afternoon.

Footage taken at the park shows the caravans leaving the site on Wednesday evening.

The illegal encampment on Ealing Common moved away in the evening after notices were served by the council .

The arrival of the travellers, for the second time this month, prompted residents to air their complaints on Twitter.

"So, Ealing Council, more travellers on Ealing Common," one wrote.

"What's the plan to actually stop this happening EVERY SINGLE MONTH?"

A spokesman for the council confirmed the encampment on Wednesday (September 28).

“Seven vehicles appeared last night on Ealing Common,” the spokesman said.

“The Park Guard arrived at Ealing Common within an hour of them getting there and carried out the appropriate checks.

“Now those checks are complete, the notices for their eviction will be issued today.

"We expect for them to be gone within 24-hours."
