A driver who fled a car after crashing it into parked vehicles and leaving his passenger fighting for his life has been jailed.

Majinder Singh was found guilty of causing serious injury by dangerous driving at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday (June 5) and given a 20 month custodial sentence.

The 25-year-old, from Stormont Drive in Hayes , was also disqualified from driving for four years.

The court heard how he had been on a night out in the Wembley area and was driving a black Hyundai coupe with three passengers when it crashed into two parked cars on Iron Bridge, Southall, at around 5am on September 10, 2016 .

Emergency services attended the scene and found the driver of the vehicle had left, leaving two passengers trapped, one of whom received life threatening injuries.

Singh was subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
