A shop was left badly damaged after a CAR reversed into it on Saturday night (June 13).

The shop front of Northwood Food & Wine, in Joel Street, Northwood Hills, suffered severe damage in the incident.

Joseph Harb, owner of nearby Lebanese restaurant, Zufa, was stood outside in Joel Street and witnessed the entire incident.

He told getwestlondon: "I was just chatting to a friend when suddenly I saw the car reverse into the shop.

"There was a crashing noise and the security guard from the Wax nightclub ran over.

"He took the girl out of the car, she was pretty shaken."

Shan Ram, owner of Space Supermarket, said he was worried about the staff at the shop.

He said: "I was inside at the time but I saw everything afterwards.

"Quite a crowd gathered around afterwards and were taking pictures.

"I'm a bit shocked about what happened and worried about the staff, but I heard they're okay."

The newsagent was not open for business on Monday (June 15).

Metropolitan Police were called for comment but had no further information on the incident.
