A man lured to a wooded area of west London for sex was left "extremely distressed" after he was robbed of his belongings and clothes at knifepoint.

The pair, who had been chatting online, arranged to meet at Northwood Recreation Ground in Hillingdon during the early hours of July 18.

They spent a number of hours talking and walking around the grounds before making their way to the wooded area behind the recreation ground where they sat on a bench.

The suspect, aged in his mid-20s, then took the victim into the woods where they engaged in "consensual sexual activity", said the Metropolitan Police .

But when the victim, who is aged in his 50s, was semi-naked, the suspect said: "Do you want to see my knife?" before taking his clothes and belongings and running off.

Police would like to speak to this man in connection with the robbery

Detective Constable Jessica Allen from Hillingdon CID said: "The suspect spent hours gaining his victim's trust so he could leave him in a vulnerable position making it easier to rob him.

"The victim feared for his safety during the incident, which has left him extremely distressed. We are keen to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV about the incident.

"If anyone recognises him, or has any information about the robbery, I would urge them to contact us as soon as possible."

CCTV appeal

The suspect pulled out a small multi-tool, took out the small knife blade and pointed it at the victim before picking up his trousers, and one of his shoes, and making a swift getaway.

The victim had several personal items in his trousers, including bank cards, cash and a mobile phone. He tried to chase the suspect but the man managed to escape.

Detectives have now issued a CCTV still of a man they would like to speak to following the robbery, which took place at around 8am following their 3am meet.

The CCTV image came from a local shop, where an attempt was made to use the victim's bank card.

The man in the CCTV is described as white, aged in his mid-20s, with short dark brown hair, with a trimmed beard and goatee.

Anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV, or anyone with information, should call Hillingdon CID on 020 8246 1791 or 101 or Tweet @MetCC.
