A cyclist who was in collision with a car has suffered head injuries following an accident in Feltham on Thursday morning.

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) treated the man, aged in his 50s, at the scene of the crash on the High Street, before he was taken to hospital.

LAS said they were called at 9.37am to Feltham High Street to reports of a road traffic accident.

A spokeswoman added: "We sent an ambulance crew and a single responder car to the scene.

"We treated a man in his 50s for head injuries and he was taken to West Middlesex Hospital."

The main road was closed for an hour while police from Hounslow and paramedics dealt with the incident. Buses were diverted and motorists faced delays in and around the area until the road was reopened at 10.40am.

Police said they were called to reports of a car in collision with a cyclist in Feltham High Street.

A police spokeswoman added: "Officers and LAS attended and the cyclist - a man - received treatment at the scene.

"At this stage his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

"Road closures were put in place while the scene was dealt with."
