A cyclist is fighting for his life after a collision with a bus in the Strand.

A man in his 40s was airlifted to hospital with a serious head injury following the collision on Saturday (June 4) at around 5pm.

Police said he was taken by London's Air Ambulance to a central London hospital, where he remained in a critical condition.

Emergency services were called to the Strand, close to the junction with Arundel Street, at 5.03pm to reports of a cyclist in collision with a bus.

Police said no arrests had been made and the driver of the bus had stopped at the scene and was assisting officers with their enquiries.

The crash is the latest in a number of serious collisions involving buses in recent weeks.

On Tuesday, May 24, a collision in Oxford Street left a 73-year-old woman in a critical condition.

On Monday, May 23, a man was critically injured in a collision with a bus in the same street.
