A cultural extravaganza is returning to Hammersmith and Fulham in June.

The HF ArtsFest takes place from June 3 to June 11 and will include more than 200 mostly free events.

It will culminate with the H&F Unity Day march and rally, to celebrate the borough’s diversity.

Events taking place during the nine day festival include exhibitions, drama, live music, film screenings, walking tours and plenty more at many different venues across Hammersmith and Fulham.

Festival chairperson Petrea Owens said: “We’re celebrating the world class venues and artists living and working in Hammersmith and Fulham.

“HF ArtsFest is working in partnership with the council to make this a great borough for the arts.”

It will also feature new community projects with professional artists working with local residents who will present dance, photography and play readings in venues from the north to the south of the borough.

High profile events include the new Comedy Festival at the Bush Theatre, Bushstock Festival at Bush Hall and the Fulham Symphony Orchestra in the Lyric Square.

Among the other highlights are:

  • An inter-cultural arts and entertainment event at Hammersmith Town hall on June 4 from 2pm to 6pm to activities from music, dance, theatre and poetry.
  • The HF ArtsFest bus, brought to you by the Taking Arts to the People (TAP) project, offering pop-up performances around the borough, including an inaugural parade on June 3.

The first H&F Unity Day march was held in 2016 in response to rising hate crime and saw thousands attend.

It takes place on June 11 and will see a march from Shepherd’s Bush Green to Ravenscourt Park, where performers and speakers will take the stage.

Despite many of the events being free, tickets may still be required.
