A man has been arrested at Heathrow Airport by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command (SO15).

The 30-year-old had disembarked from a flight from Istanbul, Turkey, on Thursday (May 4), when he was arrested on suspicion for preparing for terrorist acts and terrorist training contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

He has been taken to a south London police station where he is detained under the Police and Criminal Evidence (PACE).

The man had landed at Heathrow from a flight from Istanbul, Turkey

Officers are searching at present searching a residential address in east London.

The arrest happened on the same day a court gave police extra time to quiz six women arrested in connection to the terror raid in Harlesden Road, Willesden .

Officers were granted up to seven more days to detain the women while police enquiries continue.
