Commuters in west London are facing delays after signal failure at Hyde Park Corner.

There is no service between Kings Cross and Acton Town westbound on the Piccadilly Line while engineers work on fixing the fault.

It is not yet clear when the service will re-open, but Transport for London (TfL) said that tickets will be accepted.

TfL added there are severe delays between Hammersmith and the Heathrow terminals.

The Piccadilly Line Twitter account said: "Severe delays due to an earlier signal failure at Hyde Park Corner. Tickets will be accepted on local bus services.

"No service: Kings Cross - Acton Town westbound only. Severe delays on the rest of the line while we fix a signal failure at Hyde Park Corner."

The delay has plunged thousands of commuters into chaos who use the busy service.
