A coach fire in Ealing on Wednesday (June 22) morning has caused traffic misery for commuters.

London Fire Brigade was called to a blaze at New Broadway, at the junction with Longfield Avenue, shortly before 8am.

Firefighters spent less than 20 minutes at the scene, but the broken down vehicle led to the road being closed eastbound.

Heavy traffic delays are expected in the area, along with diversions for bus routes

Transport for London said at 9.38am on Wednesday that eastbound traffic was slow moving, and warned drivers to expect delays.

An LFB spokeswoman said: "We were called to the scene at 7.53am and sent one crew.

"The incident was over at 8.10am."

BBC Travel reported there was congestion on the A4020 Uxbridge Road stretching to Hanwell.

It said diversions were in place for bus routes 83, 207, 427, 607 and E11.

Ealing Police tweeted at 11.27am to say the road had now reopened.
