This weekend is looking dry and bright, so no doubt many of you will be getting in your cars to head out into the countryside, to your local park or the shops.

However, before setting off, make sure you check the roads as some routes in west London will be affected by road closures and roadworks.

Here is our guide to help you get through the west London roads, hassle free.

Chelsea

On Sunday January 22, Fulham Road will be closed between Harwood Road and Finborough Road due to a Premier League football match.

Large pedestrian numbers are expected in the area

Chelsea FC are playing Hull City at Stamford Bridge and large pedestrians numbers are expected in the area.

Traffic disruption is expected both before the 4.30pm kick off and after the match has finished.

Hounslow

Vicarage Farm Road is closed at the junction of Great West Road in Hounslow to facilitate works.

Motorists are being warned to expect delays in the area during the night, with temporary traffic lights on Great West Road also in operation at the junction.

The works will be in place until January 21.

Hanwell

Expect delays on the A4020 Uxbridge Road in all directions at the junction of Boston Road in Hanwell due to works facilitating a major borough street scheme.

TfL (Transport for London) warns of delays until September 1 2017.

Ealing

There will be lane restrictions on the A4127 Greenford Roundabout clockwise at the junction of the A40 Western Avenue in Ealing .

Restrictions will be in place on the A40 slip roads between around 10pm and 5am each night whilst work to improve the junction is undertaken.

Oldfield Lane South will also be closed during the works.

Chiswick

Transport for London (TfL) continue to warn of possible delays in both directions on the A406 Gunnersbury Avenue at the junction of Power Road in Chiswick .

It is due to the closure of Power Road for continuing bridge replacement works.

Works began in June 2016 and be completed on Thursday January 4 2018.

Also in Chiswick, there are various closures to facilitate bridge refurbishment works.

There will be various restrictions and closures on Kew Bridge and Kew Road between Strand-on-the-Green and Kew Green due to refurbishment works.

Restrictions will remain in place until April 2.

Brentford

The works will be in place until February 25

The A4 Great West Road between Chiswick Roundabout and Ealing Road will be subject to lane closures in both directions to allow for Highways England investigation works.

Work will take place overnight between 10.30pm and 5am until Saturday February 25.

Hammersmith

Motorists should expect delays on Hammersmith bridge.

The A306 at the bridge has a new weight limit imposed. Due to safety reasons, only one bus can cross the bridge at a time.

Works will continue until Sunday December 31 2017.

Shepherd's Bush

Motorists should expect delays

Motorists are being warned to expect delays in Shepherd's Bush due to temporary traffic lights on the A219 Wood Lane at the junction of Ariel Way.

It is to facilitate crane operation.

Works will continue until January 30.

Brent

There will be closures in place until February

Due to resurfacing works, lanes one and two will be closed on the A406 North Circular Road westbound between Staples Corner and Links Road.

There will also be a full closure of Apsley Way overnight from 10pm until 5am.

Works will continue until Saturday February 4.

Harlesden

TfL warn of possible delays during peak times

There could be delays on the A404 Manor Park Road at the junction of High Street Harlesden until January 26, due to temporary traffic signals to facilitate emergency water works.

White City

TfL warn of possible delays

Motorists could experience delays on the B412 St Marks Road at the junction of St Quintin Avenue, due to various road closures and restrictions in place to facilitate works.

Westminster

Closures will be in place on January 22

The A202 Vauxhall Bridge Road northbound carriageway at the junction of Chapter Street will be closed on January 22 and there will be a contra-flow in operation on the southbound carriageway.

No right turn will be allowed from Chapter Street into Vauxhall Bridge Road.

Diversions will be in place.

There will be restrictions until March 13

There will be various restrictions in place on Birdcage Walk, Hyde Park Corner, Hyde Park and Lancaster Gate, until March 13.

It is to facilitate works for the Cycle Superhighway which will provide cycle routes from outer to inner London.

Roads will be closed over the weekend

The A41 Portman Street northbound at the junction of the A5204 Portman Square will be closed on Sunday, January 22 to facilitate resurfacing works.

There will also be a weekend closure of the A5204 Wigmore Street westbound between Marylebone Lane and Mandeville Place due to works.

Marylebone

The closure is to facilitate telecommunication works

To make way for telecommunication works, Marylebone High Street northbound at the junction of Nottingham Street will be closed until January 31.

There will be no access from Marylebone High Street into Oldbury Place.

Knightsbridge

Work continues until April 2019 during the redevelopment of 55 to 91 Knightsbridge .

It is affecting the A4 in Knightsbridge in both directions between Wilton Place and William Street and the westbound bus lane is closed.

Motorists should expect delays in the area.
