A charity which takes surplus food to make delicious meals for vulnerable people is opening a project in Marylebone.

FoodCycle uses leftover supermarket food to cook healthy three-course meals for people who may be homeless or struggling with money.

Now the national charity , which will open its 29th centre in March, is looking for volunteers to help to help run the project, with roles ranging from cooking leader to fundraising co-ordinator available.

FoodCycle chief executive Mary McGrath said: “Using surplus food and the energy of amazing volunteers to reach those in need, our model is very simple – and we are so pleased that FoodCycle Marylebone will soon be running a weekly FoodCycle meal.

“For many of our guests, a FoodCycle meal is the one chance a week they have to sit down and share a meal with others and I’d urge anyone who is interested in volunteering or visiting the project to get involved.”
