George Osborne has told business leaders in West London that he wants to hear from them about 'what still needs to be done' to grow the economy.

The Chancellor of the Exchequer made the remarks during a visit to Chiswick on Tuesday afternoon where he met local Conservative MP Mary Macleod and entrepreneurs.

In a speech to hundreds of local business people at Aker Solutions in Chiswick Park he praised the vitality, creativity and enterprise of West London and said the Government needed to hear from them.

Mary Macleod, who organised the event with Aker Solutions, said: "It was great to hear the Chancellor speak to businesses in Chiswick Park this week. West London is such a fantastic place to do business – and Chiswick Park is the jewel in its crown.

"By cutting corporation tax to the lowest in the G20 and by cutting national insurance, we are doing more than ever for businesses of all sizes. We are doing more for entrepreneurs too, by extending funding for new businesses and providing free advice for start-ups."

Mike Smith, operations director of Aker Solutions, added: "As a company investing heavily in the UK, Aker Solutions was delighted to be able to host this event on behalf of Mary Macleod in support of the West London business community."
