Tube services on the Central Line have returned to normal after a week of travel issues on the line .

After a transformer fault on Monday (March 21) at Bow substation, services on the Central line never recovered, with massive delays.

The Central Line runs through Ruslip , Northolt , Acton and Shepherd's Bush , connecting west London with the City.

What looked like an issue that would last all week, Transport for London have confirmed that normal service has resumed, just in time for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

Peter McNaught, London Underground's operations director for the Central Line, said: “I apologise for the disruption that Central Line customers experienced due to this fault.

“This was a complicated problem that required specialist equipment and our engineers have worked to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

“We've now got a full service running on the line, and I thank customers for their patience over the last few days.”

Rail union RMT claimed the disruption in service was due to lack of staff and investment of the Tube network with “surging passenger demand.”
