Commuters are facing another journey home from hell as a broken down train causes severe delays on the Central line.

Just 24 hours after adverse weather condition and a trackside fire had rush hour travellers struggling to get home, they were faced with more woe on Tuesday (December 12) evening when a broken down train at Bank led to major delays.

The Central line runs west to east from Ealing Broadway to Epping and cuts a swathe through west London, passing through West Acton, North Acton, East Acton, White City, Shepherd’s Bush, Holland Park and Notting Hill Gate.

Transport for London (TfL) says London buses and DLR, TFL Rail, Chiltern, Great Western Railways (Paddington to Greenford) and Greater Anglia are accepting tickets.

Earlier during the evening rush hour, the fault resulted in the Central line service being suspended between Liverpool Street and Marble Arch.

As Tube users faced another slog to get home, many put upon users aired their frustration on social media.

Catherine Hudson looks to be suffering more than others. She tweeted: “I’m so tired, pregnant, hungry and cold. WHY is this happening??? Such a long way home.”

She added later: “Driver needs to stop saying ‘Apologise for any inconvenience’ in monotone voice. I’m so hungry I might eat him. Of COURSE I’m inconvenienced.”

Another tweet from Ms Hudson read: “And why doesn’t he shut the doors while we are held at each and every platform? Hasn’t he seen the news? It’s COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Adam had this to say to the Mayor of London : “Central line is so unreliable it’s abysmal. TFL needs to be better, looking at you Sadiq Khan”.

Damian Clode was relieved Uber is still operating . He wrote: “I love it when the central line just stops running. On the plus side Uber for the time being is still running.”

Mitch Potton said: “Nothing worse than working in London and having to get the central line every single day.”

Finally, Ellf Lloyd-Major had this advice for fellow commuters: “central line is crazy avoid at all costs lol.”
