An open day celebrating 30 years of graffiti at one of west London’s most iconic buildings will be held this September.

The event takes place at Trellick Tower in North Kensington and is being hosted by leading graffiti brand and spray paint supplier Chrome & Black.

The free event will showcase live graffiti art, feature DJs, and free food.

It will also include free kids’ sessions teaching children the skills to create their own art piece.

Big crowds are expected to attend, with 5,000 people at last year’s ‘Battle of Waterloo’ Graffiti jam.

A spokesperson for the event said: “We’re really excited to be hosting this family-orientated event. It would be great for the community to come along, and it’s extra special as it’s the 30th anniversary of people doing art down there.”

Graffiti art has been a major part of Trellick Tower for 30 years now

It takes place on September 24 and will run from midday to around 8pm. Free classes operate on a first-come-first-served basis.

The event aims to emphasise the positives of graffiti amid a slew of negative stories .
