Police have released CCTV footage showing a shopkeeper being head butted in an unprovoked assault in Fulham .
Officers from Hammersmith and Fulham CID want to speak to the male and female featured in the footage, following the incident on September 21.
A pair, thought to be in their 30s, had walked into Riz Repair in North End Road at around midday and said they wanted a replacement of a product they had bought.
The staff member said he did not sell the product, but the male in the pair refused to believe him.
While they argued, the woman allegedly went behind the counter and stole a couple of phone accessories which she handed to the man.
They then left the store but were followed by the shopkeeper who demanded his products back.
The man appears to turn and headbutt the victim, causing a deep cut above the eye which required stitches.
The suspects then left the scene and headed in the direction of Sedlescombe Road.
Both are black, of large build and between 30 and 35 years old.
The man had short black hair and was wearing dark clothing, while the woman dark chest length hair with red streaks.
She was wearing a dark coloured top.
Detective Constable Amit Tailor, the investigating officer from Hammersmith and Fulham CID, said: “This was an unprovoked assault on a man who was just going about his day to day business.
"The attack resulted in him receiving a nasty injury which has scarred his face.
“The assault took place during the day in a busy area of Fulham.
"I am hoping that someone in the area recalls the incident or recognises the two customers in the CCTV.”
Anyone who can help Hammersmith and Fulham CID with their investigations should call 101.
