Detectives investigating violence at Hyde Park on Tuesday evening (July 20) have released images of five men they want to speak with after a water fight descended into violence and a police officer and two other people were stabbed .

Three incidents of violence broke out across London and it is believed four of these men were involved in the incident at Hyde Park .

Police are also appealing for anyone who may have filmed the violence to come forward and aid their investigations.

Commander Nick Downing said: “We are asking for the public's help to identify these five men, to give us any information they may have about anyone else who was involved in the disorder last night.

“A lovely day in the capital turned violent in Hyde Park, Burgess Hill and Stamford Hill last night after spontaneous events turned nasty and people attacked each other and the police.”

He added that the number of police officers on duty on Wednesday evening (July 20) had been increased.

The investigation is being led by detectives from the Specialist Crime and Operations Homicide and Major Crime Command.

Metropolitan Police officers are reviewing CCTV to try and identify and arrest offenders.
