Police are appealing to the public for information after a bus driver was verbally abused following an argument about paying for a fare in Hayes.

The passenger boarded the 427 bus at around 4.50pm on September 14 at Uxbridge Road near Uxbridge County Court.

He and the driver then got into an argument about payment for travel, when the passenger allegedly verbally abused the driver before making off in the direction of Star Road.

Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command have released an image of a man they would like to speak to after the bus driver was verbally abused.

The suspect is described as a white man, of slim build, about 5ft 9ins tall, with ginger dishevelled hair and stubble on his face.

Anyone who recognises the man in the photo or anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Metropolitan Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously 0800555111.
