A litter of four tiny kittens and their young mum, who were dumped outside an RSPCA charity shop in Pinner in a sealed cardboard box, have been saved.
One-year-old Booker was abandoned on Monday (February 2), along with her four kittens: Paige, Ink, Font and Print, who are thought to be around six weeks old.
A member of the public saw a man acting suspiciously, as he dropped the cardboard box outside the shop door and then ran off. When he went over to investigate he heard a scuffling and opened it up to find a mother cat and kittens!
The cats have now been taken in by RSPCA Middlesex North West.
Aileen Scheers, from the RSPCA , said: “It is irresponsible and frankly cruel to dump a pet, and I dread to think what could have happened to them. Even dumping animals where you think they will be found is unacceptable.
"The RSPCA have come across cases where kittens have been used as dog fighting bait, or who’ve simply starved to death. However, in this case I am pleased to say that both mum and kittens are okay, and will be looking for a new home soon."
The cats are all thankfully doing well after their ordeal. Booker was quite nervous at first, but over the past few days has grown in confidence and is a really loving cat.
In a few weeks’ time, both mum and her kittens will be looking for their forever home, and we need your help to rehome them.
