New bottles of wine named after streets in Fulham and Chelsea are being launched.

The Rosaville Road is a rosé made by nearby Fulham-based winery London Cru from the 2015 vintage.

The wine, which is the winery’s first rosé, is one of five from the 2015 vintage all with London-based names.

Among the others is Sydney Street, named after the road off King’s Road in Chelsea , which will be available in October or November this year.

London Cru is the capital’s only winery and is based in Seagrave Road, near West Brompton Station.

It opened in 2013 and makes high-quality wine onsite from Italy, France and Spain in refrigerated trucks that has received rave reviews from critics.

It also offers tours and winemaking days to the public.

A spokesperson for London Cru said there is more than meets the eye with the new wines.

She said: “We felt it was important that the new vintage wines continued to refer to our unique urban location, but we also wanted to say more about the wine itself.

“The range of street name labels, with layers of meaning, better reflect the complexity of the wines. The vine leaf skeleton resembles a city map and the River Thames running through London is the stem of the leaf.

“Each leaf shape reflects the different grape varietals. For example, Rosaville Road is 100% Barbera and so the leaf on the label resembles the leaf on a Barbera vine.”

London Cru has state of the art fermentation tanks with precision temperature control and 90 oak barrels from various forests and producers across France.

All its wines are made in small batches - 600 cases at most and sometimes, as with Rosaville Road, as few as 80.

Sydney Street will be bottled next month (August) and will be available to purchase later in the year.
