A tourist who suffered a heart attack during a stay at a Hayes hotel has given staff a five-star review on travel website TripAdvisor.

Mary Hart was staying alone at the Best Western Airlink Hotel in Pump Lane on Wednesday, October 5, having travelled from Poland, when she started to feel unwell.

Staff kept a close eye on Mrs Hart, who lives in Canada, but in the early hours of the following morning she was rushed to hospital suffering from a heart attack.

'Staff went above and beyond'

Mrs Hart, who is in her 60s, said in her review: “The hotel is new and very clean, comfortable. It is close to Heathrow and an excellent choice for travellers. Bonus of a full English breakfast rather than just the usual muffin and fruit.

“But more importantly, the help and kindness I received from the staff, especially the manager Ishan Karu, who went above and beyond to take care of everything when the paramedics took me to hospital directly from the hotel.

“Service like this is priceless when you are far from home and alone.”

After several days in hospital, where she underwent surgery, Mrs Hart flew home to Canada.

'Over the moon she is recovering'

A message on the hotel's Facebook page said: "We're absolutely over the moon to hear that Mrs Mary Hart is recovering from her recent heart attack whilst staying with us. Ishan, our general manager, went above and beyond to ensure Mary didn't feel alone during this traumatic time away from her home in Canada, from contacting worried family members, to handing over Mrs Hart's rented car to Euro Cars so they would not charge her extra.

"We're proud to work alongside such a caring team - our prayers are with Mrs Hart and her family, wishing you the best of health and happiness for many years to come!"
