The Operation Disabled Vote bus has been touring London to ensure people with disabilities and learning difficulties can vote in the General Election.
Inclusion London and Ealing Unite Community, equipped with voter registration forms in different accessible formats, travelled around Ealing, Hammersmith and Twickenham on Tuesday (April 14) and will be covering other areas in London over the next few days.
A self advocacy group of adults with learning disabilities run by adults with disabilities, based in Hammersmith, called SNPF (SAFETY NET PEOPLE FIRST) were in Hammersmith encouraging others to join them, to bring a fairer and more inclusive society.
Jan Gilsby, campaigner for Unite the Community, said: "It's getting the message out.
"We have had a lot of elderly people in Ealing that did not know the onus is on them to register to vote.
"There was one boy who had learning difficulties who did not know how to register.
"The worry is people will not have their vote; as a union we want to give people a voice.
"Voting is a human and democratic right and I urge readers to ensure all family members are registered by April 20."
