An image of a man wanted in connection with a hidden camera installed in Vauxhall Starbucks' customer toilet has been released by police a year after it was discovered.

The small device was found hidden in a grate in the ceiling of the customer toilet by a member of the public on November 22 2016.

Metropolitan Police attended the incident and the device was seized that same day.

According to police the camera had been in place for up to four weeks and officers believe it was installed for the purpose of voyeurism.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "The contents of the device have been examined by police, and feature a number of video files of members of the public using the toilet.

"This has also uncovered images of a male, who police believe placed the camera at the location.

"At this stage there is no reason to believe these videos could have been viewed by anybody other than the police, as the device was seized at the location."

On Wednesday (November 22), police released an image of a man wanted in connection with installing the camera.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

When asked to explain the year-long gap between the camera being found and a police appeal being launched, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "The investigation involved time-consuming submissions of the device to the lab, for forensics and then for a full download of the device.

"The investigation also involved other enquiries into who the suspect might be which were carried out before an appeal to the public was considered."

Police urge anyone who recognises the man in picture or who has information about him to come forward.
