A burst water main in Uxbridge is causing problems for a number of residents in the area.

Affinity Water said this morning (Wednesday January 25) at 8am that it had received calls suggesting there was a problem on its network and that it would be investigating.

Affinity added that there is a burst water main on Sutton Court Road just off Long Lane that is causing the issue.

One resident said on Twitter they had low water pressure in the Uxbridge area.

A statement from Affinity Water said: “If you live in the [Uxbridge UB10] area and are experiencing problems with your water supply we have received a number of calls which suggest there may be an issue on our network.

“Our technician is on their way to investigate and a further update will be provided as soon as possible.

“During this time we ask you not to use any electrical appliances that require a water supply, for example washing machines or dishwashers and to conserve water from storage tanks during the time your water supply is interupted.

“If you do still have a supply we would advise you to store some water for drinking, in case your water has to be switched off for a repair to be completed.

“We are sorry for the inconvenience caused and aim to restore your supply to normal as soon as possible.”

Earlier this month a burst water main created a sinkhole in Ickenham.
