Video footage shows a staggering amount of mess left behind following a break-in at the former Morrisons site in Hounslow .

Police confirmed they launched a burglary investigation after being called to reports of a burglary on Sunday February 26.

The report comes after a group of travellers were spotted making their way into the car park in Cavendish Parade off Bath Road .

A member of Tragopan Security, which oversees the site, said: "The building had recently been boarded up with secure metal boardings around every window and door, and was being used for storage until further development."

The old supermarket closed in April 2016 and following the recent break in is currently being manned by two guards round-the-clock.

Images show police officers were at the site as part of their investigation on Monday (February 27).

Photographs also reveal the inside of the building has been thrashed, with cables ripped out, empty containers everywhere and rubbish has also been dumped in the grounds of the car park.

Police have confirmed they are investigating the burglary at Cavendish Parade.

The Metropolitan Police said they were called at 11pm to reports of a burglary at a venue in Cavendish Parade on Sunday (February 26).

No arrests have been made.

Police enquiries continue.

This is not the first time the premises has been invaded.

In January the site was hit by an illegal rave which saw riot police shut down the squatters party .

Days later, a second attempt was made by intruders to gain access to the site , which saw police and council introduce extra measures.
